Engineer for Extreme Environments with ASTM A789 2205 Duplex Seamless Tubing
Push the boundaries of performance and reliability with our new ASTM A789 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Seamless Tube. Designed for the most demanding applications, this tubing leverages the superior properties of duplex stainless steel to provide a solution where standard grades like 304/316 are insufficient.
Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803/S32205) features a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite, granting it a unique combination of high mechanical strength and exceptional resistance to corrosion. This makes it the material of choice for challenging environments where pressure, chlorides, and corrosive agents are a constant threat.
Unmatched Performance Advantages
Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: Offers superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pitting, and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride-containing environments, far exceeding the capabilities of 316L stainless steel.
High Mechanical Strength: Boasts more than double the yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steels (304, 316), allowing for reduced wall thicknesses and lighter weight designs without compromising pressure integrity.
Excellent Value: The combination of high strength and corrosion resistance often provides a more cost-effective solution than using higher-nickel alloys, offering better longevity and lower lifecycle costs.
Ideal for Sour Service: Certain heats are produced to meet the requirements of NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for use in sour gas (H2S) environments, common in oil and gas production.
