SS SMLS Tubing 3x1mm is a high-quality, seamless stainless steel tube with a 3mm outer diameter and 1mm wall thickness. Manufactured from grades 304 or 316 stainless steel, it provides excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and a smooth internal finish. Ideal for precise fluid transfer, instrumentation, and compact mechanical applications requiring reliability in demanding environments. Available in custom lengths.
Specifications & Standards:
Dimensions: Outer Diameter (OD): 3.0 mm (±0.05mm), Wall Thickness: 1.0 mm (±0.08mm). Other tolerances available upon request.
Material Grades: Standard offerings include AISI 304 (1.4301) and AISI 316 (1.4401/1.4436) stainless steel, providing optimal corrosion resistance for general and more aggressive (e.g., chloride) environments, respectively.
Manufacturing Standard: Produced in accordance with ASTM A269 (general service) and ASTM A213 (boiler and heat exchanger) for seamless tubes, ensuring consistent microstructure and mechanical properties.
Surface Finish: Standard bright annealed (BA) finish results in a smooth, clean surface with minimal oxide scale, suitable for many applications. Electropolishing (EP) or specific Ra-value finishes are available for ultra-clean or low-friction requirements.
Condition: Annealed for optimal ductility and ease of secondary processing like bending or flaring.
Key Features & Benefits:
Seamless Construction: Eliminates the risk of weld-line weakness, ensuring uniform strength, better pressure integrity, and improved reliability under cyclic loading compared to welded tubing.
Precision Geometry: Tight dimensional tolerances enable reliable performance in precision hydraulic systems, pneumatic actuators, and medical instrument assemblies.
Superior Fluid Flow: The smooth, seamless internal surface minimizes pressure drop, reduces particulate adhesion, and simplifies cleaning, critical for process instrumentation and sanitary applications.
High Performance: Excellent mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion, heat, and oxidation ensure long service life in demanding industrial, automotive, and laboratory settings.
Typical Applications:
Instrumentation & Control Systems: Pressure gauge lines, sensor capillaries, chromatography.
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Miniature fluid power lines for actuators and valves.
Medical & Laboratory Equipment: Components for diagnostic devices, fluid handling, and research apparatus.
Automotive & Aerospace: Fuel lines, brake lines, and hydraulic fittings in compact spaces.
General Industrial: Needle tubing, sheath tubes, and protective conduits for thermocouples.
Availability: Supplied in straight lengths or coils. Custom cutting, end finishing, and cleaning/packaging (e.g., cleanroom) services are available to meet specific project requirements.
